THE INTERLOCK is a binding system concept (such as garden inside the house) between the mass of the building and the spaces inside to provide solutions and benefits for homeowners of two floors house.
Spacious land and hot temperature conditions, encourage the client to build a home with sufficient light and better air circulation to save more energy. The interlock concept comes with the concept application of multi-mass buildings and garden inside house. The existence of multi-mass building is considered to divide many spaces function inside to have good natural light and air. While garden in the house is a binding system between the mass of buildings and spaces which become source of natural light and air.
In zoning, on the 1st floor area of 1st zone there are carport and garage (multifunction as a praying area, social gathering and others), in 2nd zone there are fish pond, terrace, living room, kitchen and dining room, in the 3rd zone there are laundry room and a room shower, then 4th zone as a guest bedroom (multifunction as a praying area), main stairs and service stairs. On the 2nd floor of 1st zone, there are main bedroom, main bathroom and walk in closet, in 2nd zone there are a family room combine with karaoke room with a balcony, in 3rd zone, there are bedroom and children's bathroom, in 4th is for service area which is bedroom and maid’s bathroom also washing & drying room. All zoning is then bound by green area or garden, void and corridor with skylights are able to deliver natural light and air circulation.
Area of the facade, we explored by creating a secondary skin using a combination of steel material & hollow also perforated plate which were arranged with interlocking pattern as the application of this residential while viewing the sketch or from the top. In accordance with client’s preferences & requests, these materials combination are produce the facade design which is not plain but has dynamic pattern.
