THE TROID (Triangle-Trapezoid) is the main form of mass which derived from triangle and trapezium. Aside from the shape, this house also has a Breathing House Element that is applied to improve the air circulation and light into the room then become a healthy home. The concept is applied through the mass building creation which is able to absorb sunlight from the east, openings (cross ventilation) and also create lungs of the house, which is inner courtyard.
Healthy home is a priority request from the client so architect try to explore the shape of the building mass by creating building masses divided by triangles. Analogically, the triangle hemisphere implies the building mass that catch eastern sunlight and airflow optimally. The triangular spatial function as the "lungs of this house" which are applied in the inner courtyard and fish ponds as natural air conditioner. At the back of the house, there is a garden and semi-outdoor space with a skylight roof and there are openings a window that serves as a bar area and the main stairs of the 1st floor to the 2nd floor. By that application concept, direct sunlight & air circulation will create a healthy home space.
Concerning of space program, we try to accommodate all of these issues from clients. First, the front space of the house is used as aquascape store. Second, we have implemented relaxing spaces in several house parts, in the front area is a terrace which is a living room as well as a sitting room, inside of the house there is a triangle of inner courtyard that can be used to relax while enjoying the fish pond, in back area there is a relaxing area with bar table roofed by skylight, and there is also a rooftop area in the front of the 2nd floor. Third, there is a guest bedroom with a compact bed concept that can be used as bedroom and also a sofa with courtyard view. Fourth, service area located on the 3rd floor is also used as a hydroponic area.
The building facade concept of this house applied the half gable roof shape to create homey impression. The openings in the facade of this house were designed large enough to improve incoming-outdoor air circulation & sunlight.
